Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus: Officially Announced!

Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus: Officially Announced!

The Mobile World Congress started off with a bang as Samsung launched their Galaxy S9 and S9 PlusLet’s dive in with some initial reviews and features!

What’s new?

Let’s go first with their tagline: Camera ReimaginedImproved camera features include the super slow-mo that captures 960 frames per second. They went further by offering automatic Motion Detection that lets the phone start recording when it senses the movement.

They also have the AR Emoji (we’re guessing their answer to Apple’s Animojis) where you take a selfie and the phone will transform you into an emoji. You can change its mood and background that you can practically send to anyone.  Plus, they’ve added an Intelligent scan which is combining the Iris Scanner and Face Scanner so the phone will automatically have 2 ways of unlocking with you just looking at it (a response as well to Apple’s Face ID). Though CNET notes it’s not secure enough for mobile payments yet.

Now focusing at the back of the devices, you could also immediately see the fingerprint scanner placed below the camerathe singular camera for the S9 and the dual-camera for the S9 Plus.

Samsung also gave the devices a form of surround sound audio with one of the microphones acting as second speaker. Trustedreviews goes on record saying it’s in the running to be the best phone of 2018.

What stayed from the previous Galaxy models?

The Infinity Display with the Galaxy S9 still boasts a 5.8-in screen and a 6.2-in for the Galaxy S9 Plus like their predecessors. Also the same: an 18.5:9 aspect ratio screen. Headphone jack lovers rejoice: it’s still on both of the flagship devices, which is also definitely approved by CNET. Another approval is the IP68 water resistance for both phones.

There’s also the formal and fun colors for both devices namely: Lilac Purple, Coral Blue, Midnight Black and Titanium Gray. The first 3 will be available in the US.

Ok, I’m sold! Now, how do I get the phone?

You can get yours by pre-ordering on Samsung’s website, but be prepared to dig deep into your wallet. The Galaxy S9 costs $719.99, while the Galaxy S9 Plus starts at $839.99. If you pre-ordered through the Shop Samsung App from March 2-5, you’ll get a guarantee delivery of March 14, however the global release is set at March 16.

Plus, the Verge also found other ways and places you can buy your phone like Best Buy. Read through their choices and pick the best one for you!

Hold on, how much is the phone again?

We know it’s quite pricey (no way to go but up as they say). But don’t worry as we’ve got your screen covered!

We’re back with our 3D-Curved Edge Ballistic Glass Case-Friendly Screen Protectors for both devices! You can also opt for our Wet-Applied Thermoplastic Film Curved Edge Display Coverage!

Galaxy Note 8

Galaxy Note 8 Reviews: the best device for you?

Galaxy Note 8 Reviews: the best device for you?

Was Samsung able to redeem themselves?

After the Galaxy Note 7 was practically synonymous with “explosion”, Samsung released their next-gen Galaxy Note 8. And not far along came the reviews. Are you eyeing on the Note 8 to be your next phone? We’ve got you covered!

Galaxy Note 8

Galaxy Note 8

What’s to love?

Even with a great 6.3-inch “Infinity Display” screen size the phone is easy to hold in one hand. Then you can use your other hand for the S-Pen and tap away on the device. It’s also not as big as the other chunky phones like the iPhone 7 Plus. This is so far the biggest screen ever placed in a Note too.

The Note 8 also has a great AMOLED display even in power saving mode. Plus even with the “always-on” display, there’s not much worry on battery drain as the display only uses power for colors other than black (smart design!).

Going back to the S-Pen, there’s been some great and helpful upgrades on it too! One very usable perk is writing a note even with the screen locked up to 100 pages and more!

Plus Live Message that can be made into a GIF and send in social media which is pretty neat for this reviewer.

Another relatively new trick in the device is hiding the screen navigation bar with a double tap which can be handy for times you want to maximize the screen for an app.

There’s also a headphone jack for those who still need to have it!

Galaxy Note 8

Samsung also joined the bandwagon by placing dual cameras on the Note 8. The Korean tech giant did not hold back in making sure image quality is amazing according to this review. You can also shoot bokeh-like images called “Live Focus.”

Galaxy Note 8

Galaxy Note 8

What’s NOT to love?

If you’re not much of a fan of Bixby and the dedicated Bixby key, sorry to say but it’s here to stay…and probably for keeps. This reviewer still quite hated the fact the fingerprint sensor is at the back near the camera like the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. And the alternatives don’t work as well either.

Repairing / replacing the display can be pretty difficult since you have to take out the glass case with its strong adhesive. So, it’s best to keep that display protected!!

With great perks, come great/expensive price. The starting price is at $930 for the unlocked version and can go for $960 through US carriers.

OK, I definitely want to buy the Note 8! But this is some hefty price!?

Shelling out almost $1,000 for an awesome device is definitely no laughing matter. That’s why we at Tech Armor want to make sure that you get to maximize your investment with no worries!

Our 3D-Edge Ballistic Glass Case-Friendly Screen Protector will keep your screen scratch and fingerprint-free! And those accidental drops? Our protectors will also take the brunt of the fall for your screen! 😉

Samsung Galaxy Note 8: bigger and better

Galaxy Note 8: bigger and better

It’s finally here folks!

After the explosion (literally) of last year’s Note 7, Samsung’s finally back with the Note 8! Planning to buy yours? We’ve got you covered with this announcement rundown from Unpacked 2017!

What’s awesome on the phone?

The Galaxy Note 8 has a bigger display with 6.3 inches and 2960 x 1440 resolution. It’s got the AMOLED Infinity Display like the Galaxy S8 and a 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

Phone Features/Highlights

App wise there’s App Pair where you can create shortcut and simultaneously launch 2 apps at once in a MultiWindow.

There’s the Screen Off Memo and pin to always on display screen update. Just double tap the note you pinned on the screen with the S Pen and start writing. You can write until 100 pages. Speaking of S Pen, Samsung made it have a finer tip and better pressure sensitivity. You can also translate sentences by hovering over the sentence with the S Pen.

The S Pen can now make messages animated with Live Message. It can be added to photos. It’s in a standard animation format, easy to share with everyone.

Samsung literally doubled the camera power by powering the phone with Wide Lens and Telephoto Lens. They’re proud to say it’s the first smartphone to also have Dual Optical Image Stabilization available for both lenses. They even compared it with the iPhone 7 camera:

And just like the Galaxy S8, Dex, Gear VR and Gear 360 is also for the Note 8. Knox is also placed in the device to secure the phone. And of course Bixby.

Oh, did we mention it’ll also have earphones from AKG.

How about the battery? It’s powered by a smaller 3,300 mAh battery (pretty sure just to be on the safe side).

Under the hood it’ll be powered by 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, 10 nm processor in the US. It’ll have 6GB RAM and choice of 64/128/256 GB storage, expandable up to 256 GB.

When’s it available?

It’ll be out by September 15! Though you can already preorder today and get some awesome perks.

Colors Midnight Black and Orchid Gray will be available in the US. While no announcement made yet where Maple Gold and Deepsea Blue will be.

No official price yet in Samsung’s Page as of this writing. Though several carriers have posted their outright prices:

  • Verizon: $960 off contract for 64GB model
  • AT&T: $950 outright
  • Sprint: $999.99 full retail

ALMOST $1,000?! No kidding…

Unfortunately, we aren’t kidding on the price. With that kind of price, it definitely deserves the best protection. Especially that awesome screen!!! No worries, Tech Armor has just what you’ll need!

We’re also taking preorders for the 3D Curved Ballistic Glass Screen Protector! It’ll be here just in time when you get your Note 8. We’ve got your other accessories covered too to keep your Galaxy Note 8 charged, synced and ready! Need extra USB-Type C Devices? We’ve got lots for you to choose from!

Going on a road trip? Make sure you’ve got a Dual USB Car Charger and a Car Mount!

And if you’re always on the go and 3,300mAh is not enough, keep it charged with our ActivePower Power Bank!

We’ll always have your back! 😉

Galaxy Note 8: Yes, it’s just around the corner!

Are you ready for what Samsung has in store for the Galaxy Note 8?!

What does Samsung have under its sleeve for the Galaxy Note 8? We got you covered! 😉

What’s new from the rumor mill?

Update: New Galaxy Note 8 leak just came up from Slashleaks! Although still not confirmed if this render is the final phone design, it quite agrees with all other information that have come up.

First off, the fingerprint scanner. Remember its awkward placement in the Galaxy S8/S8+? Unfortunately, the Note 8 will probably have the same fate. Yep, at the back beside the camera too.  But there’s a bright side! The upcoming phone will feature a 6.3-inch curved edge infinity displayAnd for the first time, dual cameras might be a go for a Samsung phone! It’s said to be 12MP with optical image stabilization.

Samsung is reportedly working with Qualcomm for plans of the Note 8 utilizing a Snapdragon 836.There’s also another rumor that the Note 8 will be powered by a 3,300 mAh battery— which is smaller than the battery used in the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 7. Since we’re on the topic (and we’re pretty sure you’re also wondering), is the battery going to be legitimately safe? So far outlooks are positive. Especially with the Korean giant’s 8-Point Battery Safety Check.

Some of the other rumored specs are: 6GB RAM, USB-Type C connector and a 3.5mm jack. While available colors are black, blue and gold.

When will the phone be launched? Estimates over the web are either August, September. Though AndriodAuthority specifically reports it’ll most likely be August 26 in New York City.

Another magical question is: how much will this new phone be? BGR’s source says it’ll be just under a $ 1,000.

Is it truly the rise of $1,000 smartphones?!

Oh yes, the price is on the rise folks. The upcoming iPhone 8 is also in this category… We totally understand that paying that huge amount of money for a great device is no joke. And we know it’s best to have that investment safe from any harm.

Not to worry! Tech Armor will always have your back! For just a fraction of a price, we’ll be there to protect your phone from drops, scratches and even the daily wear and tear! As for the Galaxy Note 8, stay tuned as we just might have what you need to make sure your gadget is all safe and secured! 😉

What new leaks might come up? Stay updated through our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Google+ accounts. Join the TA Nation too! 😉

Update Source:

Can the LG G6 Compete With the Galaxy S8?

LG G6: does it have what it takes?

Can LG’s flagship phone compete with Samsung’s Galaxy S8/S8+?

LG also released its new flagship phone this year: the LG G6.

It’s also one of the first phones that came out this year—which was then followed by the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ and in the coming months, the new Apple flagship phone.

So what’s new on the LG G6?

Read on to find out more!

One of the main highlights from LG’s flagship phone is its 18:9 FullVision Display, having an 80% body to screen ratio. That’s a 10% increase on body to screen ratio from last year’s LG G5.

How’s the reviews?

The step up in the display style was not amiss in this review. It showed very little bezels  and creating the screen more vertical which is helpful for viewing lists like Facebook and other apps. Plus the narrow body is easier to hold.

Trusted Reviews also talked about how the LG G6 went back to basics for the design–compared with the G5. This year’s flagship has a sleek look plus a fingerprint scanner that’s not awkwardly placed like of its rival the Galaxy S8/S8+.

Performance-wise, it features the older Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset though there’s not lag evident or concerns when playing high-powered games like Asphalt.

While this review agrees that no problem with the older CPU. It’s also quite easy to use since the phone is thinner that it seems. The software also took advantage of the 18:9 ratio making 2 equal squares for split views.

LG’s Always On Display is a great feature said in this review— one of the best in the mobile industry.

LG vs Samsung

The two Korean Giants continue to compete as the best Android phone around.

LG right now is in a good shape by reaching an all time high US market share, slimming the gap between them Samsung. So what updates are there between the two?

Netflix fans are in for a treat if they get the LG G6. So far it’s the only Android phone where you could stream HDR and Dolby Vision!

Both phones have single speakers at the bottom which can easily be covered by the hand. But sound quality goes to the LG G6 as it has much fuller and better sound speaker compared to the Samsung Galaxy S8.

If you’re using lots of Google services, you’re in luck with the LG G6 since it has the Google Assistant natively. Major pro in this is it’s easier to search what you’re looking for in the web. Compared to Bixby which helps out more in controlling your phone.

Easier location of the fingerprint unlocker and wide angle option photos also gives a win to the LG G6 compared to the Galaxy S8.

Speaking of photos, after using both this review says macromode is better on the G6 with more features and details. Stabilization is better too. While the Galaxy S8’s photos are more realistic, takes better selfies and has better colors. The overall image is also smoother.

Despite the awesome display the LG G6 has, we can’t ignore the Infinity Display in the Galaxy S8. And in this reviewer’s perception, Samsung is overall more stunning with just a little cost gap. One feature is for the full screen extension function on the Galaxy S8.

Digital Trends agrees on this when they compared the phones on the following topics: Specs, Design, Display, Software and additional perks.

For the specs, Galaxy S8 is quite better–like having latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 for the US on paper. The software also has the capability of making your phone a mini-CPU with the DeX. And includes AKG earphones just to name a few.

The LG G6 doesn’t even come with earphones in the box. But both use the 3.5mm headjack so at least that’s a win!!!

One of the other important questions is the price: so just how much are they?

Price range for the phones are:

LG G6 at $650-$720

Galaxy S8 at $720-$750

Galaxy S8+ at $840-$850

Wow, they’re all so expensive…

We understand your sentiments on that (especially with the larger glass screens) so as always, we’ve got you covered!

If you decided to go with the LG G6, you can arm it with our flagship screen: our Premium Ballistic Glass Screen Protector!

Buying the Galaxy S8? You can get either our 3D Curved Ballistic Glass Full-Coverage or 3D Curved Ballistic Glass Case-Friendly Screen Protectors!

Chose the Galaxy S8+ among the three? No worries as we have that covered as well! We’ve got 3D Curved Ballistic Glass Full-Coverage for the phone!

Bonus! Need an extra charger for the phone? We also have Type C Chargers you can choose from!

And if you think you might run out of battery charge while out on the field, bring one of our Powerbanks with you! 😉

Which is the better choice? iPhone 7 / 7 Plus vs Galaxy S8 / S8+

Which is the better choice? iPhone 7/7 Plus vs. Galaxy S8/S8+

Still wondering which phone to get?

As always Samsung and Apple are always quick to say they offer the best phone around. Still deciding which phone is the best to invest in? We’ve got you covered! Read on below to see a review of the pros and cons of both phones!

Just by looking at the phones it’s safe to say there’s definitely a huge difference between the 4 screens.

Spec-wise for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ we see 5.8” and 6.2” displays respectively. Both having Quad HD + Super AMOLED and certified with Mobile HDR Premium TM by the UHD Alliance. Most are pretty impressed with Samsung’s new achievement and its sharper looking screen.

While the iPhone 7/ 7 Plus that have 4.7” and 5.5” Retina HD displays respectively. Both have wide color display and dual-domain pixels for wide viewing angles.

Samsung also has a higher screen-to-body ratio phones compared to Apple’s.

Display win goes to Samsung: by a landslide.

On paper, both the Galaxy S8 and S8+ have a 8MP AF front camera that has F1.7 Aperture and a rear camera of Dual Pixel 12MP AF and F1.7 Aperture. The phone’s camera is reminiscent of the camera hardware from Galaxy S7.

While the iPhone 7 has a 12MP camera with f/1.8 aperture and the iPhone 7 Plus has a 12MP wide-angle (f/1.8 aperture) and telephoto (f/2.8 aperture) cameras.

These phones were tested on the field by various reviewers. One of the highlights found is the iPhone 7 Plus gives a more natural image while the Galaxy S8+ gets better low light photos in this video. While this video shows Samsung’s flagship phone having vibrant colors while the iPhone 7 Plus has smoother panning.

Software and Processor

Apple is still considered having a smoother, updated yet simple platform that users can easily navigate through. And almost all Apple users, with 79% of active iOS devices are up to date with updates.

Unlike Android where only 4.9% of active devices use the latest Android Nougat. Most users are still using the Android Lollipop which was first released November 2014. Google can make a comeback by pushing through with their policies for their third-party apps.

Several reviewers initially tried to check out the performances of the phones such as this and this one in different ways.

Safe to say, both phones have their pros and cons and it’s a tie.

More than just superphones

During the launch, Samsung launched a lot of other devices that go with their flagship phone. There’s the new Gear 360, Gear VR, different types of unlocking the phone and the new DeX Station—making the device a mini-CPU.

For the iPhone 7/ 7 Plus we’ve also noticed different devices that can go with it. There’s the new Hover Camera Passport, Skoogmusic Skoog 2.0 Tactile Musical Interface, iDevices Switch Gamevice Controllers and more.

Bonus: Pretty sure at the back of your mind (and we can’t blame you) is this question: is there any chance the new Galaxy phones can or will burst into flames? Other than there’s no reports, we got to see this video. So it’s highly unlikely it’ll burst unlike the last one. Kudos Samsung!

Both seems to be great phones! But with greatness comes cost…

And Tech Armor is here to help you out whichever you choose! 😉

For the Galaxy S8 and S8+, choose from our screen protectors that best fits your lifestyle!

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+: unboxed, unpacked, unveiled

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+: unboxed, unpacked, unveiled

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are set to arrive on April 21!!!

With the launch of the flagship phone, it’s time to confirm and put to rest the months of unending rumors! This may just be the big break the company’s been waiting for to blast the Note 7 fiasco in the past—and earn the lost trust from customers.

Read on below as we give you the rundown what’s been announced!

Samsung: “A New Era of Smartphones”

Just as rumored, the new phones have an “Infinity Display” removing all bezels in front and using an ALL GLASS edge-to-edge screen. Plus smooth curved edges.

The screen is finally confirmed to have a 5.8-inch display and with dimensions of 148.9 x 68.1 x 8.0mm for the Galaxy S8. While the Galaxy S8+ has a 6.2-inch display and dimensions of 159.5 x 73.4 x 8.1mm.

Both phones have an 18.5:9 display ratio. Another display detail is the Always On Display feature.

With the larger screen, users can now multitask easier in the screen like watching a video while texting a friend. It’s also the first mobile globally to be certified with the Mobile HDR PremiumTM  by the UHD Alliance.

Samsung also strengthened the security features. There are now 5 ways to make sure your phone and the data in it are secured. One is the fingerprint scanner which is beside the camera at the back. You can also choose from the traditional password and pattern security. The other two are the Iris Scanner and Face Recognition for a more unique security.

Samsung also says the devices’ performance will run at an incredibly fast speed as they have placed the most advanced 10nm processor: a first in the world.

Siri’s got competition. For this Galaxy line, you get to say hello to Bixby. The AI can respond through different means like taking a picture of an object and search online. The tech giant placed a dedicated button for Bixby in the new phones.

Final battery power for the Galaxy S8 is 3,000mAh and 3,500mAh for the Galaxy S8+. It also uses a Type C-Cable. And yes it has a 3.55mm headphone jack! The phones’ earphones are created by AKG.

Samsung became more colorful with this line as 5 colors will be released for both models: Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Coral Blue, Arctic Silver and Maple Gold.

Here comes additional perks: Samsung also released a new Gear 360 and Gear VR to pair with the phones. What’s more is it’s connected to Samsung Pay and a better version of Samsung Connect.

Another new and unique perk is the Samsung Dex where you could use the phone as a computer; this was also one of the previously rumored.

There’s also something new for Samsung Health. In the US, it partnered up with leading online providers like Amwell. You’ll be able to connect with a doctor online in minutes—at your own time!

It was also announced during the unveil, the flagship phones will be available by April 21. While pre order from carriers is now ongoing. But you can also wait for the unlocked version pre orders starting on May 9.

Expected price for the Galaxy S8 is $750 USD while the Galaxy S8+ at $850. Samsung did not release a price during the launch or as of this writing.

ALL GLASS SCREEN? Won’t that be more prone to cracks though?

Here at Tech Armor, we’re confident that won’t happen when you arm those devices with us! 😉

For an all glass screen display, we procured an all-display solution to give the best protection. You can choose from our two screen protectors  (available NOW):

First is the Tech Armor FlexiClear Film Screen Protector which we’ve created with our polyurethane film that grips and covers the edges of the screen; plus flexible enough to help absorb impact and prevents costly scratches.

If you prefer a glass protector, this second one’s for you: the Tech Armor 3D Curved Ballistic Glass Screen Protector! We used only Asahi-branded Japanese glass for the best protection on your screen. Also by molding it with heat-bending technology, it’s created to be a perfect fit for the all glass screen to protect it from drops and scratches.

And the good news is we’ve already released them! Our engineers have been hard at work perfecting the screens with different tests. As always, the screen protectors went through Tech Armor’s rigorous drop tests too!

Don’t worry as we’ll keep everyone posted on how they can PRE ORDER these screen protectors! Just in time for your Galaxy S8 when it arrives. You can also head over to Amazon and check out more details:

Samsung Galaxy S8: More News and Rumors

Samsung Galaxy S8: More in store

The leaks and rumors just keep on coming!

With just around a week left before the unveiling of Samsung’s new flagship phone, lots of rumors and leaks again surfaced in the web!

Read below as we give you the latest info on the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus:

Any updates from Samsung?

Recently, the Korean giant launched a TV ad for the Galaxy S8 in their home country.

Other than that, the launch is still a go on March 29 at 11am EDT in New York.

What’s new from the web?

It’s said the TV ad is one of the ways to keep buyers interested in waiting for Samsung’s new phone after LG G6 was launched in South Korea.

A new investor note from Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities also predicts the line will have 2 sizes: one will have a 5.8-inch display and the larger a 6.2-inch display as previously rumored. Both will have OLED screens with WQHD+ resolutions of 2960×2400.

He adds processors for phone sold in the U.S., Japan and China will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor while those in Europe and rest of Asia will contain Samsung’s Exynos 8895 processor.

While The Investor reported Samsung had to forego the plans of fingerprint scanning for the Galaxy S8. Its partner Synaptics ran out of time to develop the technology for the phones.

This feature was one of the much awaited from the company especially with the large screen the new phones have. It was then a last minute decision of the Korean giant to place a fingerprint scanner on the back—near the camera.

For Apple, this can be a good news as they’re also aiming for a fingerprint scanner for the iPhone 8.

To compensate for the last minute change, it’s expected the Galaxy S8 will also have an iris scanner to give users another way to unlock their phones with a quick eye scan.

New leaked screenshots of the launcher and app icons have recently been published too.

The photos show the latest version of Samsung’s Smart Switch application. Claims of an all screen display may be confirmed with the lower buttons shown. It’s also predicted the phones will run on Android 7.0 Nougat.

A photo leak of the battery for the Galaxy 8 recently came up as well. This may be designed by Samsung SDI and assembled in Vietnam. It’s expected they would also source batteries from Murata Manufacturing Works in Japan.

More colors are now in the loop for the Samsung Galaxy S8! Another photo shows the range of new possible colors for the phone: White, Blue, Silver, Gold, Glossy and Regular Black. Previously rumored colors were: Black, Silver and Violet.

One of the other notable features that can come with the phone is being able to connect it with a monitor–to use it like a computer.

When launched, it will likely be the most expensive smartphone to date. Latest rumored prices posted in the web are for the UK with the Galaxy S8 selling at £799 or $971.34 USD and £899 or $1,092.91 for Galaxy 8 Plus.

HELP! How can I protect my future new phone?

GOOD NEWS! Tech Armor’s got you covered!

We’ve got just the screen protectors to suit your lifestyle. Our team is hard at work to make sure they’re all set when the phones are released.

As Samsung’s flagship phones are curved screen, we decided the best solution is to have FULL edge-to-edge coverage for maximum protection. Especially the bigger the screen, the larger the possible cracks. (Yikes!)

One is the 3D Curved Ballistic Glass Screen Protector. Using heat-bending technology, we’ve curved our flagship screen, the Ballistic Glass, to make it a perfect fit- making it easy to install too!

Another is the FlexiClear Film! This was originally named as the HD Clear Film, Edge-to-Edge Screen Protector in our previous Galaxy S8 blogs. Its elastic nature will help absorb the falls and prevent those scratches. Another bright side is you get to enjoy a high definition view every time you use the device!

So far that’s the latest on Samsung’s upcoming flagship phones. Just as everyone, we’re excited for the announcement! Stay tuned as we give you the newest details on the phone and we can help you protect it! 😉

Samsung Galaxy S8: Leaks and updates

More leaks have come up as the launch date grows near

Just a few more weeks before the Galaxy S8 (and so far the Galaxy S8 Plus) is officially introduced to the world! And with it, more rumors and even leaks about the flagship phone are found all over the web!

Not to worry! We’ve got them here to help you out:

What we know for sure:

Samsung finally confirmed the launch date of their flagship phone on March 29 at 11am EDT in New York. The company also released a video teaser in line with the launch.

New Leaks and Rumors from the web:

One leak floating around the web is about the global release date. The expected sale or release date that is still in the running is April 21. Although it’s now suggested it may likely be pushed a week later to April 28No specific reason was given for the move but Samsung has been known to be cautious after the Galaxy Note 7 disaster.

But there’s also another rumor that pre order for the phone will be available on April 10.

Another recent leak published on BGR displays the blueprint / renders of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. You can see that the sizes of these phones are compared to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The Samsung flagship phones are almost the same size as Apple’s flagship phones. The former will just be a bit slimmer in width and wider in height.

However, one important characteristic from the leaked image is the display sizes of the phones. The Galaxy S8 will have a 5.8-inch display and the Galaxy S8 Plus a massive 6.2-inch display. This is compared to the 4.7-inch screen of the iPhone 7 and the 5.5 screen of the iPhone 7 Plus. It in a way strengthens/confirms the previously rumored Galaxy display sizes and Samsung pushing through with the all-screen front plan.

The “infinity display” may also be here to stay! Samsung has a trademark filing for it and may now be the name for its new low-bezel screen.

What’s more interesting is the actual phones may already have been leaked out to the web! It can be seen in the photo and video from SlashLeaks showing the big screen display of the phone in the sleek color black.

Yes, the colors black and silver are still in the running for Samsung’s new flagship phone, but now there’s a rumored third color: Violet, replacing the Orchid GreyNew rumored prices are now HIGHER with the Galaxy S8 at $972(USD) and the Galaxy S8 Plus at a whopping $1,0964(USD)!

Update/development on how Tech Armor plans to protect the phone:

With the higher rumored prices, it’s definitely time to think about how you can protect your investment!

We’ll be releasing two screen protectors to arm your Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Since it’s a curved screen, we aimed to cover the entire screen for maximum protection.

Samsung Galaxy S8 film

First is our HD Clear Film, Edge-to-Edge Screen Protector to cover the entire screen display while giving you a high definition view. The elastic nature of this protector will also help it absorb shock and wrap around the curved edges of the display.

Another is the 3D Curved Ballistic Glass Screen Protector. We’ve used heat-bending technology on our top-rated Ballistic Glass to match the round display of the Samsung Galaxy S8 for seamless installation and impact protection for your phone.

Our engineers are currently in the process of testing out these screen protectors (as shown in the leading image above). Everything from screen fit and adherence to touch response and clarity is being tested and initial results are excellent! Samsung has baked in several pulldown menus/features on the edges of the display and we’ve experienced zero interference when swiping laterally from the curved edges. Up next: drop tests!!!

And that’s the recap of most of the latest leaks from the web! Stay tuned for more updates on Samsung’s flagship phone and our screen protectors to help you protect it! 😉
